I use it to cut down on the sanding dust. I finish with wax so it works well.

why do you use the wax on the sand paper?

Hey Ive tried to make a few rings, they all broke. i think im using too soft of wood or maybe doing it not the best way? if you do make that video could you maybe talk about good woods to use. also i think it would look great if you did a inlay circle so it would look like a diamond or try gluing different woods and i kinda want to see that paint ring too.
haha sorry if im being a bother with all this

Collin

Ok thank you!

Hi, I sand with beeswax and mineral oil. I mix them togther.

Carl

Btw what video do you talk about your sanding and finishes? if there isnt one could you maybe mention it in you next video?
thanks

Ya i thought about that too i just didnt know if it would work out so well. Either slipping or cracking. i would love to see that ring. How do you think i could get big paint things like that? Thank you i cant wait to see that. Yes i saw the ring and pin chuck, haha ive watched all your videos, they have showed me a lot thank you. keep up the good work!

Hi,
I think a tapered dowel is the best way to make different sizes. I did make one out of
the paint. I will do a ring next week and I will try the dowel. did you see the video I did on the ring with the pen chuck?

Thanks,
Carl

I really want to make a ring or a couple of them but different sizes. You think the waste block chuck would work well? i would love if you could give it try and make a video, maybe even with one of those paint things you have. I think that would turn out vary interesting looking.

Thanks Bob,
You guys are keeping me busy!

Carl

Just how cool is this? I ask to see a bracelet and the man makes a bracelet. You make it look pretty simple and I like that we can keep our fingers away from the scroll chuck. Good info about the mineral oil & wax experiment…I’m going to try it soon. Yes, they must have been using the min oil as a finish alone. Keep these videos coming and thanks again.

Bob

Thanks, Do you use a 4 jaw chuck to make bracelets.

Use end grain wood and will not breack all mine are from end grain

They kept braking with the 4 jaw chuck.

Carl

Ya! I’m the all request woodturner. It’s ok
it keeps me in the shop.

lol you are turning into a suggestion channel =]

That’s a great idea to use a wooden chuck. I’ve been trying to make bracelets on a 4 jaw chuck but, no matter how easy I expand the jaws I still get marks inside the bracelet. Thanks for showing this, I’ll definitely give it a go.
Best Wishes,
Brendan
